April Newsletter

I realise it’s been a little while since you’ve heard from me. The start of the year has been busy, particularly with work and also personal things. I’ve finally got a week of holidays - so finally some time to write and put together a newsletter.

Not too much has happened on the writing front since the start of the year. I am still working on the sequel to Pink Punch. Good news is, I have the bulk of this plotted out, I just need to sit down and finish writing the first draft. I am planning to focus this second book on Zero K as the main character, delving a little more into his powers and his past. There will still be a lot of the other characters (and the cops being idiots) and Pink Punch dealing with a few problems of her own.

As well as working on Pink Punch, I’ve been experimenting with a few other story ideas. One of these is a fantasy involving ‘monster’ hunting, with the beasts inspired by Australian megafauna, but set in modern(ish) times. There’s some world building and mechanics that I need to work out for that one to make it all run smoothly. I may already have a draft of this one…

As a sneak peek, here are some sketches I’ve been doing of characters and of one of the critters.

I also have plans for a few market stalls to sell my books throughout the year. I will keep you posted on these. There will also be plenty of photos to share when I do!

Hopefully, I will have some more news next newsletter, maybe even a draft complete, so stay tuned!

Laura.
