October Newsletter

So I checked, and I haven't sent a newsletter for awhile. Whoops! Life has been busy. I finished up my current day job, but haven't yet pinned down another one. This does mean I have more time for writing. And I'm about two chapters away from finishing the first draft of the sequel to Pink Punch. It's nice to have time to work on my writing, but I also need to get full time work. But yes, definitely good for my writing. Kindle Select and Free Promos I've moved Pink Punch into kindle select....

Upcoming Book Signing in Townsville

I’ve got some book signings in Townsville coming up in the next few weeks! The first is at Mary Who, along with other local authors Barbara Strickland and Alyson Walton. Check it out for epic fantasy with dragons, romance, and of course, superheroes! The following week, on the 15th of June, I will also be at the Our Townsville event. The Townsville Writers and Publishers Centre (TWPC) will have a few tables with authors selling our books. I’ll be on one of these. If you’re local, come check...

April Newsletter

I realise it’s been a little while since you’ve heard from me. The start of the year has been busy, particularly with work and also personal things. I’ve finally got a week of holidays - so finally some time to write and put together a newsletter. Not too much has happened on the writing front since the start of the year. I am still working on the sequel to Pink Punch. Good news is, I have the bulk of this plotted out, I just need to sit down and finish writing the first draft. I am planning...
My usual writing spot

January Newsletter

Welcome to the January edition of my newsletter! I had a couple of weeks off work over Christmas, and I’d love to say I got heaps written on the sequel to Pink Punch. Well, I got some writing done on it, though not as much as I’d hoped. Still, a break is always good, and I feel refreshed for the new year, both work-wise and with my writing. What I did do was plot out the rest of the story. Usually I pants it, but I wanted to try plotting it and I think it was largely successful. One of the...

November Updates

I’ve got some great news. I have finally got my book in an actual bookstore! If you live locally in Townsville, Australia, Arcane Books has just opened in Kirwin. It’s a nice little shop with a great atmosphere. They stock a lot of fantasy and romantasy, as well as indie titles. And, or course, local authors. Some of the other local authors from my writing group and I are going to be doing a signing/author talk there on Saturday, December the 7th! It would be great to see anyone from the...

October Updates

Welcome to my October newsletter. This month, I wanted to share with you another character bio - this one for another character from Pink Punch, Zero K. I also have some fun writing prompts you may want to try further on . Character bio: Zero K Zero K has only just started playing an active role alongside his family and the other supers and is keen to prove himself. Especially to Pink Punch. Appearance Zero K wears a sleeveless hoody and shaded glasses that conceal his face. His arms are...

September Updates

It's newsletter time again! Work has still been super hectic, but I've got a little bit of writing on the sequel to Pink Punch done. I thought I'd share some character bios I've been putting together. I'm not quite sure whether these are going to live on my website as yet. But I figure I'll complete them before I work that out. The first, is of course, Pink Punch, the hero of the story. Pink Punch Bio Pink Punch usually works alone but, having an apparent change of heart, has recently decided...

August Newsletter Update

Welcome to this month’s newsletter! This month I have been flat out. It is a little hard to find time to write around the day job, particularly with lots of deadlines coming up for the end of the year. So this one’s going to be a little short. But, I found a short story I wrote about a year ago for my writers’ group, which I haven’t yet shared. It’s a little silly, but those are always the fun ones. I may be a little obsessed with gnomes… The Princess and the Gnome Once there was a princess...

Superpowers and Strays

Welcome to my July author newsletter! If you’ve been following me on social media (I mainly use Instagram, and I also cross post to Facebook), you may have noticed I haven’t been posting a great deal. I’ve been concentrating on is this newsletter, my blog (which exists, but I have yet to post to consistently) and of course, my writing. I don’t know about you, but sometimes social media feels like you’re in a rush, constantly posting to please the algorithm. I’d rather focus on my writing and...

June News Update

Welcome to my June updates newsletter. It's getting colder, at least here (I live in Australia). Perfect for curling up and reading a book, or getting some writing done. Earlier this month, I attended Pop Fest Townsville. Which went well, and I sold some of my first paperback books in person. I also picked up a couple of indie books from other writers, and some nerdy stuff. (I still can't pass up some good Pokemon merch, lol.) I’ve also been working on the second book in the Pink Punch...
